Last weekend, two members of the Sacred Heart Club Bowling Team competed at the Intercollegiate Singles Championship Sectional hosted by Thunderbowl Lanes in Allen Park, Michigan.
The format was 6 games total wood with a tournament field of 181 bowlers. Only the top 5 would move onto the national final.
Representing Sacred Heart were Alex Besnilian, Junior - Biology. Alex has been a fixture in the bowling center and has worked tirelessly over the past few years. This certainly showed at this national stage where Alex's high point was 66th after game 5 and finished in 92nd place with a 192.66 avg. "This was an incredible experience and one I won't soon forget. At the end of the day, I felt that I exceeded my expectations and can only hope to back next year even stronger."
Also bowling was Chris Besnilian Freshman - Biochemistry. Chris began bowling last fall and worked hard learning the game. It was shown at one tournament this past season where he finished with a team high average over 200. It was a tough tournament for the young left-hander as he finished in 177th in the field. "Having the opportunity to bowl in the largest tournament in my life was amazing! Although I was nervous, it was an awesome experience. I wasn't happy with my performance as a whole, I can only move on and become better."
