Sacred Heart Women's Lacrosse continued their winning-streak this past weekend after two high scoring games against Central Connecticut State University (CCSU) and Quinnipiac University (QU). More importantly, SHU's 11-1 sweep against CCSU was their charity game for Alzherimer's Disease awareness. The Pioneers also took down Quinnipiac in a final score of 11-6 for senior day.
The Pioneers made significant strides on the field to lead them to both wins. In the game against CCSU, the 11 goals were scored by Senior Captain Samantha Faeth, Junior Amanda Beberman, Sophomore Jolie Dalton, and Freshmen Katherine Taylor, Georgia Saxe, and Nicole Partridge. Goalie Meghan Foley had 3 saves. Players that had great assists on the field were Senior Elizabeth Quinn, Junior Amanda Beberman, Sophomore Kellianne Murphy, and Freshman Georgia Saxe.
The Pioneers senior day game against QU also had 11 goals, made by leading scorer Junior Amanda Beberman with four goals. Other scorers were Senior Captain Samantha Faeth, Sophomores Jessica Talino and Jolie Dalton, and Freshmen Katherine Taylor, Georgia Saxe, and Nicole Partridge. Assists were made by Samantha Faeth, Devyn Looney, Elizabeth Quinn, Amanda Beberman, Paige Brucker, Nicole Patridge, and Emily Pomerico. Goalie Paige Brucker made a pivotal 9 saves during the game.
The Pioneers hope to continue their winning streak this season as they face University of New England and University of Maine in a round robin on April 6.
