ACDC B Battle Through Road Test at New Haven, Turn Focus to Strong Finish

Sacred Heart Men's ACDC B Club Hockey team traveled to West Haven this weekend for a challenging road matchup against the University of New Haven. The Pioneers found themselves down by two after the opening period, but stayed composed and prepared to respond as the game moved into the middle frame.
Sacred Heart came out flying to start the second period and quickly injected energy into the game. Tim Ouellette (#7) opened the scoring for the Pioneers, finishing a play set up by Ben Bajzath Jr. (#20). The momentum continued when Cam Souza (#19) scored the first goal of his college career, assisted by Jay Bailey (#29), and Drew Scalice (#8) added another goal later in the period, again with Bailey earning the assist, as Sacred Heart continued to push and create offense in a game that featured plenty of special-teams situations.
In the third period, Bajzath scored twice unassisted to keep the Pioneers battling, but Sacred Heart couldn't generate enough stops defensively to complete the comeback. The group stayed connected on the bench and competed to the final horn, and the postgame message was clear: tighten the details, double down on effort, and keep building toward the ultimate goal, winning in the playoffs. Sacred Heart fell 12–5, and now turns its attention to the final two regular-season games: a home matchup on Valentine's Day against division rival and Atlantic Division frontrunner Fairfield University, followed by a road finale at Ramapo on Sunday night
