Sacred Heart Club Sports

Ray graduated from Sacred Heart in 2005 with a B.S. in Finance and a minor in sport management. While serving as a Graduate Assistant in Student Life he received his MBA while graduating in 2007. In 2008, Ray was appointed as the first director of Club Sports in Sacred Heart history. The program grew rapidly under Ray growing from 175 students to over 800 since its inception. There have been the addition of 20 new sports since 2008 and the level of competition has grown dramatically. Teams have competed all across the country and some have even competed internationally. Ray served as the men’s club basketball coach from 2008-2015 and during that time the team competed in various NIRSA sponsored tournaments as well as against many of the top Community Colleges, Prep Schools and Junior Colleges in the northeast.

In 2010, Ray assumed the role of Head Coach for the Club Softball team and has led the team to a World Series appearance in 2014, as well as three straight New England Regional appearances. Ray also assumed the role of Head Coach for the Women’s Club Basketball team in 2015. In his first year the team won their first ever NIRSA Regional tournament game and looks to continue to grow the program.
