Stephanie Watson

Stephanie joined the staff at Sacred Heart University in October 2013. She graduated from Ithaca College in May 2008 with a B.S. in Athletic Training and Exercise Science and a minor in Health Sciences. While pursuing her undergraduate degree, she gained clinical experience with the Ithaca High School football team and Ithaca College NCAA Division III gymnastics and wrestling programs. In March 2008, Stephanie traveled with the Ithaca College wrestling team as the team’s medical staff for the NCAA Division III National Championships in Cedar Falls, Iowa. She also completed summer internships with USMA West Point athletic department and was a medical provider for the Northeastern Grappling Challenge.

After graduation, Stephanie worked at Professional Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy in Mamaroneck, NY until 2010 when she left to pursue a master’s degree. In 2013, Stephanie graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with an M.S. in Kinesiology with a specialization in Sports Medicine. Her graduate thesis, titled the Effects of Dehydration on Concomitant Measures of Cognitive Function and Balance, studied how dehydration effects muscle performance and decision making during activity. While at UNLV, Stephanie worked as an athletic trainer with their NCAA Division I football and softball programs and served as an approved clinical preceptor. She also worked as an athletic trainer with the Las Vegas Bowl Youth Football camp and UNLV boxing club. A native of Cornwall, NY, Stephanie works primarily, with the ice hockey and rugby teams.
