The SHU Men's Club Rugby team is the oldest club sport team on campus, having competed since 1992. The team is currently a member of the Small School League in the Southern Division. They participate in the New England Wide Collegiate Rugby Conference (NEWCRC).Â
The team can carry up to 35 players and practices 2 to 3 times per week on Sacred Heart's Park Ave Field. The team will play 4-7 games in the fall semester and travel/host 4-6 tournaments in the spring semester. Games in the fall are played with 15 players on each team and it is an 80-minute game. while in the spring, each game is only 14 minutes long and 7 players play on each team at one time.Â
In 2017 the Sacred Heart Club Rugby team qualified for the National Championship and finished 2nd in the Beast of the East Tournament in 2018!Â
