The Women's Club Basketball team is one of SHU's well-established programs having been around since the start of the department. The team plays through the majority of the academic year, starting in October and running through March. In 2019, the team became a part of the NCBBA-W which is the Women's Division of the National Club Basketball Association.

The team practices three days a week and play all their home games in the Valentine Health & Recreation Center located on Sacred Heart's Main Campus. The team participates in the New England South Conference of the NCBBA-W joining Brown University, Fairfield University, Providence College, Stonehill College, UConn, and Yale University. In 2022-2023 the Pioneers took home the Conference Regular Season Championship and represented the New England South Conference in the New England Regional Tournament.
