SHU women's club volleyball went 6-2 in pool play, advancing to the second round of playoffs at the CCSU Tournament this past Saturday. This was the first tournament of the Spring and the Pioneers switched up their offense by running a 5-1 for the first time. Junior setter
Sophia Racanelli stepped up and played very well, spreading the sets out and leading the team on the court, tallying 60 assists for the day. SHU was on fire at the service line with 5 aces from Racanelli, 6 from Sophia Rogers (Fr.) and 8 from Elena Pasqual (Fr.). Also leading the offense was Liv McGrath (Jr) with 20 kills and Pasqual with 15 kills.
The defense was solid all day, paced by
Jenna Mikolay (Sr.) with 36 digs. Ariel Kyere (Soph) grabbed 20 digs, while Elena Pasqual (Fr.) picked up 27 digs.
