About Us

The Sacred Heart Club Tennis team began its 15th season in the Fall of 2023. The club welcome members of all playing experience and typically carries between 20 and 25 members. The club is currently a member of the USTA Tennis on Campus League and compete in the New England Section of the league. 

The format used for match play is World Team Tennis (WTT), which includes 1 men's singles, 1 women's singles, 1 men's doubles, 1 women's doubles and 1 mixed doubles. Scoring is based on the aggregate of games won vs lost for each team over the course of the 5 sets and may include a super tiebreaker in the mixed doubles set to determine an overall winner. The WTT allows a maximum of 10 players (5 women and 5 men) in competition. We regularly extend WTT format to provide opportunities for additional members to compete. 

The team will compete in 10 matches/tournaments per academic year highlights by the New England Sectionals Championship in October each year. 

The Club Tennis team calls the Trumbull Racquet Club home for all their practices and games. The facility is located at 35 Lindeman, Dr. Trumbull, CT.  The facility features six championship courts on resilient true bounce surface.
