About Us

The Club Ultimate team has long been a club sport program here at Sacred Heart but took a hiatus for a few years due to interest levels. It is back and extremely popular here at Sacred Heart now having returned. Lead by Head Coach Tom Barnouw, the team is currently sitting at around 15 members with a roster cap size of around 20. Under Barnouw, who is a two-time Ultimate Frisbee World Champion (Seattle Sockeye, 1997 & KWA, 2002) and is a nominee for the USA Ultimate Hall of Fame, the team officially joined USA Ultimate and has been a competing member for two years.

The team's primary season is the spring semester but will often get together for practice and tournaments in the spring wherever they're available.

With their victories at Ultiment, they were able to qualify for the USAU Sectional Tournament  which they played in that spring at Yale.

The team will practice 2-3 times per week much like other club sport teams. They will travel to tournaments in the Northeast or on the East Coast if manageable. If you have more questions, please reach out to Head Coach Tom Barnouw at barnouwt@sacredheart.edu.
