The Sacred Heart Club Lacrosse team prepares to enter its 15thseason, pending the course of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Pioneers compete in the National Collegiate Lacrosse League (NCLL) in the New York Metro Conference, against teams such as Hofstra, Fairfield University, Stony Brook, Fordham, and Marist. The NCLL is made up of 100+ teams around the country, including University of Massachusetts, Providence College, and Quinnipiac, among others. Additionally, we often play our out of league components in the MCLA.
During the Spring Semester, the team typically practices three times a week and competes at the weekend. The team will play 10-14 regular season games per season, which does not include the possibility of playing in the NY Metro Conference tournament, with the tournament winner advancing to the NCLL Elite 8 competing for a National Championship.
Over the past 15 years, the team has captured 4 Conference Championships advancing to our last Elite 8 appearance back in 2013. During this time, the Pioneers have been consistently ranked within the NCLL Top 20. Our roster consists of players of varying levels of experience, from novice players to talented D1 student-athletes. All are welcome to join!
