The Sacred Heart Men's D2 Club Hockey team is a member of  the American Collegiate Hockey Association Men's Division 2 (ACHA MD2) which is the national association for non-NCAA collegiate hockey throughout the United States.

The Pioneers compete in the Super East Collegiate Hockey League (SECHL), joining Army West Point, Central Connecticut State University, Clarkson University, Marist College, Montclair State University, and Siena College in conference play. Since joining the conference in 2017, the Pioneers have shown great success, having never missed a conference tournament. The team has also appeared in 5 of the last 6 Northeast Regional Segments of the ACHA MD2 National Tournament.

The team has a roster size of 30 players and practices two nights a week. The Pioneers practice and play all their home games at the Martire Family Arena which is located in Sacred Heart's West Campus.
