SHU D2 ice hockey defeated Central Connecticut State University 6-3 on Saturday to remain undefeated in SECHL play. After a scoreless first 10 minutes, CCSU got on the board with a power play goal. SHU got on the board in the next 2 minutes when senior
Justin Bernhard picked up his first goal of the season. CCSU scored on the power play again, but the Pioneers tied it up when sophomore
Matt Milko carried the puck up the ice and scored on his own. Each team scored again in the second. Junior

Gio Crepaldi to tie it at 3. It was all SHU in the third. Sophomore
Christos Caminis netted his second goal of the season in the first 10 seconds to open the third period and put the Pioneers up for good. Freshmen
James O'Toole and
James Dillon score the first goals of their college careers to ice the win. Junior goaltender
Corey Splaine had 30 saves as the Pioneers outshot their opponents 63-33.
The Pioneers look to keep their win streak alive as they take on SECHL opponent Siena College on Saturday at the Albany County Hockey Facility. Puck drop scheduled for 7:30pm.
