The Sacred Heart Esports team announced today their 2024-2025 MAAC schedule. 
    
The Pioneers will participate in the following game offerings: Rocket League, Overwatch, Super Smash Bros, Valorant, and League of Legends. Head Coach Sam Schelfhout is excited for the opportunity his club has to compete in one of the premier conferences in the region "We're thrilled to join the MAAC this season. The conference has been a standard-bearer in esports, and we're excited to test our skills against some of the best teams in the region." 

The Pioneers will kick off their schedule on Monday, October 21st at 7:00  PM in Rocket League and complete their schedule with a matchup against Fairfield University in Valorant on Thursday, March 20th at 8:30 PM. 
    
Each game will run in a double round-robin format meaning the Pioneers will face off against each institution twice "This is an amazing opportunity for our program to compete with top-tier teams. At first glance, the schedule looks pretty daunting! It will be a gauntlet - our work is cut out for us. However, it will be exciting to face such strong opponents week after week, and we're ready to give it everything we've got." 
    
The Pioneers are looking forward to new competition and testing the waters in their new conference with hopes of making a lasting impression on their opponents and continuing their winning ways "As the newest members of the conference, we're excited to get our feet wet and see what the competition in the MAAC is all about. We've had plenty of success in the ECAC, and I hope that carries over to this new level of competition. I know our players have that drive that will make us a competitor in each match we play, so it will be fascinating to see what that transition to the MAAC looks like."
