ACHA D2 ice hockey took home 2 wins on the weekend, defeating Merrimack College 8-4 on the road and receiving a forfeit from Rider University.

The team hit the road on Saturday for a rematch of last weekend's game against Merrimack College. SHU was first on the board with a goal in the first minute of the game from sophomore Dylan Stiles. They were able to add 2 more in the first while keeping MC scoreless. In the second, the Pioneers added 3 more, while holding Merrimack to one. SHU stumbled in the third, allowing 3 quick goals to let the host team back into the game. They were able to regroup and ice the game with goals from sophomore Rob Moliterno and freshman Alex Walsh. Stiles becomes the first Pioneer this season to reach double digit goals.

The team is back in action this weekend when they host conference rival Army on Sunday at the Martire Family Arena.
