SHU 1 - UCONN 1 
FAIRFIELD, CT (October 27, 2024) – The Sacred Heart University club field hockey team hosted their last home game on Sunday. Six graduating seniors were celebrated - (left to right in photo) 3rd-year Senior Alayna Lovelace, Captain Emma Borland, Captain Izzy Nolan, Captain Jordyn Vonnes, Becca Phelps, and Gianna DiMarino. 

Senior Becca Phelps scored the only goal for the Pio's late in the 2nd quarter off a penalty corner assisted by senior Izzy Nolan.

UCONN scored the equalizer in the second half off a penalty corner. The game remained tied through the end of regulation. SHU had a number of penalty corners in the final minutes but couldn't capitalize. The two teams went head-to-head in seven minutes of 7v7 overtime, but neither team could find the back of the net. 

The PIOS return for their last game of the season in North Andover, MA where they will take on the Merrimack and UNH.
