Fairfield, CT - After a strong Friday night game vs Fairfield, the Pioneers take on the UNH Chargers under the lights Sunday night. Starting off with a high pressing attack, Sacred Heart put in a big workload and did not let New Haven near the goal for the first 30 minutes. Just 10 minutes into the game, a cross from Zaiden James is perfectly placed for Midfielder Justin Alves to head it into the back of the net to put the Pioneers up 1-0. The Second Half starts strong with a full fledged attack by SHU being up 1-0 and staying strong. The Pioneers Defense held the offense to a 6 shot game with no real chance for goals. But in the 70th minute, the Pioneers fell to 10 men after a Red Card was shown to the Pioneers Goalkeeper and the game flipped around. New Haven starts a full press but Goalkeeper Jack Cavicchi took over the spot and put in 2 saves in the last 15 minutes to keep the Pioneers in it still. Sacred Heart wins 1-0 putting their current record to 1-1-1.
