The Sacred Heart Men's Club Basketball team picked up two big wins over Hofstra University Saturday night at the Valentine Recreation Center. Sacred Heart secured game one with a 72–68 victory, followed by a 61–57 win in game two.
In game one, Garrett Eterno got things started with 14 points and 7 assists, while Gavin Flynn led the team with 24 points. The Pioneers showed strong energy on both ends of the floor, making key plays down the stretch to close out the opener in overtime.
Sacred Heart carried that momentum into game two, where Carmine DeCrescenzo had 16 points and 4 assists. Ugo Aniagu followed up with a double-double performance, posting 14 points and 12 rebounds to help secure the sweep.
With the pair of victories, the team continues to build momentum as the season progresses. The Pioneers now roll into the final games of the season looking to end the year strong against two conference opponents in Manhattan College and cross-town rival Fairfield University.
