The CHF pioneers battled for 2 wins this weekend against the 2 Long Island schools Stonybrook University and Hofstra University. The Pios headed out to Stonybrook on an away game and finished with a solid 6-3 win. This wasn't easy as it was a close game all the way through with Stonybrook not going out without a fight. But Freshman Quentin Wry kept the boys alive with his Hat Trick performance. Followed by several first goals from Freshman Will Hayes and Nick Tumminello and Junior Dan Leddy. The squad took the win and headed back home to face Hofstra.
With a home game at Milford Ice Pavilion the team looked to complete the series sweep and beat Hofstra for a third time before the potential of facing them again in playoffs. After a close 1st the boys opened up the scoring to finish with a 5-3 victory. Sophomore James Burtch got his first collegiate win in net and with that the CHF Pios get back to winning games and head into Thanksgiving break for some time off before finishing the semester against Farmingdale State.
