The Sacred Heart DII AAU Hockey team took on Fairfield University this past weekend in their regular season finale. The Pioneers have battled with Fairfield quite a few times this season but came out victorious in very convincing fashion on Friday night with a 10-0 shutout win.

Eight Pioneers found the back of the net against the Stags including Sam Weiner, Jason Bonante, Jack Kinahan, Will Hayes, and Brendan O'Donnell. Significant contributions on offense came from Jake Calanni and Brendan Murphy who scored two goals each. Most memorable however, was Liam Joy who registered his first collegiate goal.

After finishing the season 15-9 and 12-5 in conference the Pioneers sit behind #1 Farmingdale State in conference standings. The Pioneers now await their fate for postseason contention and hope to get the call that their season will continue with a bid to Nationals.
