This past weekend D1 Club Softball celebrated their three seniors and faced off in a triple header series against Quinnipiac.
Morgan Vigeant, Kylie McNamara, and Steph Villar were honored and had the opportunity to walk out onto the field with their family and receive flowers from fellow players.
Sacred Heart won game one 9-0 in five innings and the top performers were:
Captain Emily Cooper with one hit, two runs, and a run batted in
Captain Kassidy Pratt with two hits, two runs, one double, one run batted in and a stolen base
Hailey King with two hits, three runs batted in, a double and a run scored
Freshman Grace Scrima with two hits, two runs, three runs batted in, a double and a homer
Sophomore Hailey Perry with one hit and two runs scored
Captain Kylie McNamara with a complete game shutout, giving up just two hits over 5 innings with seven strikeouts and no walks
Game two also went down as a win in five innings with a score of 8-0 and the top performers were:
Sophomore Katie Mulhare with two hits, three runs scored, a double and a run batted in
Freshman Amanda Federico with two runs batted in
Sophomore Catherine Meyers with a complete game shutout and no hitter. She struck out ten and gave up just one walk.
The last game of the series was a thriller ending in extra innings with Sacred Heart coming back to win 12-11 and the top performers were:
Captain Emily Cooper with two hits, two runs batted in, two runs scored, and a stolen base
Captain Olivia Salveggi with two hits including a double and homerun, two runs batted in, two runs scored
Sophomore Victoria Cunningham with two hits including a triple, a run batted in, and two runs scored
Sophomore Grace Warner with four hits including two doubles and a triple, two runs batted in and a stolen base
Sophomore Ali Landry with two hits and two runs batted in
Sophomore Catherine Meyers with the win after coming in to close.
