Fairfield, CT – The Sacred Heart Club Sports Department and Athletic Director Ray Mencio announced the addition of the second Club Softball team. The addition of the second team will make Sacred Heart the only school in the National Club Softball Association (NCSA) with two competing teams.
“We have had an influx of talented softball players, many of who missed out on their junior and senior seasons,” said Athletic Director and Head Club Softball Coach Ray Mencio. “It's an honor to be the first ever team in the country to have two competitive club softball teams in the NCSA.”
The Club Softball team has seen success throughout its years in the NCSA, qualifying for the regional tournaments every year and making several NCSA World Series appearances including one this past spring. The addition of the second team will allow more SHU Students to participate in a sport they grew up loving while playing in a competitive environment.
Both teams will start play this fall and into the spring semester. For more club softball news, follow us on twitter and Instagram @SHUClubSports or here at shuclubsports.com.
