The Sacred Heart D2 Softball team is heading to their first ever NCSA D2 World Series in Cranberry, PA. The team will face off against #1 Stevenson, #2 UW-Whitewater, and #3 Salisbury. The tournament will run from Saturday May 18th through Sunday May 19th.
On Saturday, the Pioneers will open up pool play against Stevenson at 10 am with their second game against UW-Whitewater at 12 pm and Salisbury at 2 pm to wrap up pool play. Once completed, the teams will be reseeded for the single elimination round of the tournament with the winner being crowned champions.
The Pioneers received an at large bid to the World Series after falling to Fairfield University in the District I Playoff Championship. "We have worked really hard to get to where we are today, and we are so excited to see the outcome. We would like to thank the NCSA and SHU Club Sports for this amazing opportunity as well as our friends and family for supporting us to get us where we are today, we are forever grateful." said head coach Kristina Constantino.
