Club Softball White started off their season with a three game series against the University of New Haven.  While UNH is a new program, Softball White comes into their second season looking to make their presence known, leading the outcome of this series to be highly anticipated.  

Game one was dominated by the home team as Macie Phillips struck out 12 batters, and gave up no runs.  Her teammates had her back with run support with Danielle Duby going 3 for 4 with a run batted in, and Paige Lemonongello going 2 for 3 with an incredible three runs batted in.  The final score was a 4-0 win.

Lauran Balak started pitching in game two, striking out 3 batters and helping herself going 2 for 3 with a triple and a run batted in at the plate.  Danielle Duby was again the catalyst going 3 for 4 with two runs batted in, and Lauren Kampersal followed suit with a 2 for 3 day including a double and a triple.  This game produced more runs with a final score of 8-2, and once again ended in a win for the home team.

Game three resulted in the only loss of the day, with a final score of 7-9.  However, there were still highlights for Sacred Heart from multiple players.  Lauren Cote pitched and hit, not only producing 5 strikeouts but going 2 for 4 at the plate with a double, and Michela Morrill was on fire at the plate going 3 for 3 with two runs batted in.  While the end result was not in their favor there was a great comeback effort, with the team starting out down 6-0 but fighting back to make it just a two score game.  

This is a great starting point for Softball White looking to fight for a spot in Regionals come April.
