The Sacred Heart Women's Club Basketball team traveled to Providence, RI on Saturday to face off against Brown University in two league games. The Pioneers won game one by a score of 45-42. The team was led by
Taylor Gibbs with 14 points,
Grace Venezia and
Alyssa Alfieri with 6, Laurin Carboneau and
Carolyn Frankle with 5 points,
Dayna Mercogliano with 4, and
Elizabeth Portelli with 2.
Sacred Heart continued their winning games securing the victory in game two by a score of 64-53. The team was led by
Dayna Mercogliano with 18 points,

Elizabeth Portelli with 7,
Skyler Felice and
Carolyn Frankle with 6 points each,
Rina Damon with 4,
Alexa Medley with 3, and
Alyssa Alfieri, Shea Bertlocci, Laurin Carboneau, and
Grace Venezia each has 2 points.
Sacred Heart improved to 11-1 in league play and 18-3 overall. With the win's against Brown, The Pioneers secured the New England South League Championship and punched their ticket to the NCBBA-W New England Regional Tournament in Boston, MA from April 6th to the 7th.
The Lady Pioneers receive a well earned break in their season as spring break begins for the University on Saturday March 2nd and runs through March 10th. The ladies will be back in action on Sunday March 17th when they travel to city rival Fairfield for two games.
