SHU Club Tennis placed first this past weekend at Fairfield University's Senior Day round robin tournament. Participating team were Fairfield University, Sacred Heart, Trinity College and University of New Haven. The Pioneers started off the day with a 26-13 win over Trinity, avenging a loss early in the season. In singles,
Mark Khalil won 6-3 while
Michelle Rosen dropped 2-6. The doubles teams of
Jose Cantillana/Felix Marois and
Krista Demirakos/
Meghan Sharockman cruised to 6-2 wins. The mixed pair of Trey Medonis and
Bella Conti sealed the deal with a 6-0 win.

In their second match, SHU again came on top 25-16 over the UNH. Notable wins were Sharockman and Gio Orlando 6-3 and 6-4 respectively. The women's doubles pair of
Audrey Belliveau and
Julia Civetta won 6-3. The mixed pair of
Christian Mayorga and Rosen raced to a 6-0 win.

Both Fairfield University and SHU went into the final match of the day with 2-0 records. The Pioneers swept of 5 sets vs the host and favored Stags. First year Nicolina Giannola picked up a win at women's singles 6-1 while Mayorga pulled out the win at men's singles 6-4. The women's doubles pair of Conti/Demirakos extended the lead with a 6-3 win. The men's pair of Medonis/Khalil pulled out a win in a back and forth match 6-4. The mixed pair of Cantillana and
Stephanie Davino capped off the decisive victory with a 6-5 win that went the distance with a tiebreaker.
