The Sacred Heart ACHA D3 team completed its season last week after finishing their run in the ACHA D3 National Championship in St. Louis, MO. The Pioneers went into the tournament as the #10 seed and faced off against #2  Lawrence Tech, #7 Calvin University, and #15 Saint Vincent College in pool play. 

The Pioneers opened up their Nationals run with a 5-1 loss to Calvin University on Tuesday morning and followed up with a 6-1 loss to defending champions Lawrence Tech on Wednesday night. The finale of the tournament saw a tough back and forth game between the Bearcats from Saint Vincent but ultimately, the Pioneers dropped the battle 3-1. 

David Richardson scored the first Pioneer goal of the tournament vs Calvin while Brady Marszalek tallied a goal of his own in the second period of the Lawrence Tech game. The final Pioneer goal was scored by Sophomore Cosmo Siano. 

The Pioneers completed another successful season with an overall record of 22-7 en route to hosting the MCHC trophy for a third straight year.
