On February 14-16, the Sacred Heart University Chess Team traveled to Parsippany, NJ for the 2026 US Amateur Team East Tournament. This event is one of four high profile annual regional chess team tournaments around the country. There were 336 four-player teams. This included teams from colleges, K-12 schools, and non-affiliated independent teams. Close to 1400 players competed face to face in six rounds spanning three days. Each game typically lasted 2-3 hours. See the tournament web site for the final team and individual results.
