SHU had one team competing in the online Spring 2026 Collegiate Chess League.
Team participants included team captain Evan Gioia, Michael Baker, Robert Capodicasa, Ben Mandler, and Forde Todd.
SHU has competed in the Collegiate Chess League every semester since Fall 2021.  Each semester, SHU has been rising in the divisions to increasingly competitive schedules.  This year, the team qualified for the playoffs as the number 1 seed with the best regular season record.  They took home second place after losing in the group finals Chaudhary Devi Lal University. 
Opponents this year included teams from the USA, Germany, and multiple teams from India.  The competitors were:

• Indian Institute of Information Technology Jabalpur
• Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur
• Chaudhary Devi Lal University
• Indian Institute of Information Technology Patna Center for Technology
