The Sacred Heart University Figure Skating team competed in the MIT Figure Skating Classic from January 30st-February 1st in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The team finished 5thwith 196 points and 18 podium placements. On day one of events: Samantha Hudson (Fr) placed 2nd in Preliminary Plus Free Skate Group B. In Pre Juvenile Women Free Skate Group B, Sophia Fortunado (So) placed 3rd. Jillian Falletta (Jr) placed 1st in her event for Novice Women Short Program In Intermediate Women Short Program, Tess Donlan (Fr) placed 4th. In Silver Solo Pattern Dance, Ashlyn Incantalupo (Fr) placed 8th. Sarah Decillis (Jr) placed 1st in Bronze Solo Pattern Dance. Emma Whitehead (Sr) placed 1st in the Juvenile Women Short Program event. In Junior Women Short Program Group A, Kaitlyn Brittell (Fr) placed 5th, while in Group B, Amanda Smentkowski (Sr) and Sydney Robinson (Sr) ended in a three-way tie for 4th. On day two of events: Whitehead placed 3rd in Preliminary Solo Pattern Dance Group C. Decillis placed 2nd in Pre-Bronze Solo Pattern Dance Group B. Falletta placed 2nd in Intermediate Solo Free Dance Group B. In Pre-Preliminary Women Free Skate Group A, Gianna Cammarano (Grad) placed 2nd. In Juvenile Women Free Skate Group B, Incantalupo placed 6th. Whitehead placed 2nd in Intermediate Women Free Skate Group B. Falletta placed 1st in the Novice Women's Free Skate. In Junior Women Free Skate, Smentkowski placed 4th, Robinson placed 6th, and Brittell placed 9th. Low Team Maneuvers represented by Incantalupo, Fortunado and Hudson, placed 2nd out of the flight of 20 teams. On day three of events: Intermediate Team Maneuvers, represented by Mikayla Garot (Fr), Olivia Farro (Fr), Whitehead, Falletta, and Donlan placed 2nd in the flight of 13 teams.
