Women's Soccer - Red

2021-22 Season Ends For Women's Club Soccer

Fairfield, CT- Women's team played a Sunday night game on October 10, 2021, against Central Connecticut State University, at their field. The women came out strong and ready to play a competitive game. The first twenty minutes of the game were close and competitive, with the team communicating and being calm. Freshman Caroline Porter scored the first goal, from a through ball pass from junior Carla Macera. This goal kept the ladies motivated and excited to continue to play, the rest of the first half. As the first half was coming to an end, CCSU had a break away, an scored from outside the box, making the game 1-1, going into the half time. During the second half, the girls started out strong and ready to score. Within the first 10 minutes, Caroline crossed the ball to Junior Emily Petronio. This gave the girls the lead 2-1. Goalie Alexandra Napolitano played excellent, saving the ball and not letting CCSU score. Half way during the second half, Caroline crossed the play to Emily again scoring making the game 3-1.

SHU women took this win, and celebrated it. This was the last game of the fall season, and they ended on a good note.
