The Sacred Heart NECBA Club Baseball team began its first season of inception on Sunday, September 15th when it traveled to Frank Vieira Field at the University of New Haven in West Haven, CT.
The NECBA team battled hard in both games of their doubleheader but ultimately came up short with a 1-0 walkout loss in game one and a 9-7 loss in game two.
Player highlights from the weekend include Sophomore Southpaw
Michael Civetta pitched five innings of two-hit baseball in game one. Civetta struck out five charger batters. Freshman
Justin Digiovanna started his club baseball career on a hot note going two for three with two total bases and a stolen base. Fresman
Dan Adzima also shined going two for two with a walk and two total bases.
The NECBA Pioneers are back in action on Saturday, September 21st when they host Brown University at Notre Dame Prep. The first pitch is slated for 10 am.
