The Sacred Heart Women's Club Ice Hockey team began their first season of competition in the 2022-2023 school year. The team is a member of the American Collegiate Hockey Association Women's Division 2 (ACHA WD2) which is the national association for non-NCAA collegiate hockey throughout the United States.

The Pioneers compete in the Independent Women's Club Hockey League (IWCHL) Presidential South Division, joining Assumption University, Bostong College, College of Holy Cross, Northeastern University, Providence College, and UConn in conference play. The team will compete in 20 regular season games with postseason play awarded to those who qualify. 

The team currently carries 25 players and can carry up to 30. The team also has an option to participate as a practice player to develop skills. The team will practice 2 times a week with games on the weekends. The Pioneers practice and play all their home games at the Martire Family Arena located on Sacred Heart's West Campus.
